Shepley Badminton Club is a lively and friendly club with members' ages spanning from teenagers to 60+ year olds. We welcome males and females and operate on a social and competitive level.

We play in two Leagues: Barnsley and District Badminton League and Huddersfield and District Badminton League with teams in each. Currently we are in Division 2 of the Barnsley League and Division 1 of the Huddersfield Composite League. We also have a Ladies Team entered in the Huddersfield League.

Club Nights are on Wednesdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and Home Match Nights are on Tuesdays from 7.00pm to 9.30pm from the beginning of September to Easter. We play with feather shudles on both nights. Also since moving to Penistone, we have run a Summer Club from Easter to the end of August on Wednesdays from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

Visitors are welcome and can pay a visitors' fee until they decide to become members (half price for the first visit). A “peg system” is used to ensure that all players are frequently playing a game on court and no-one is left out.
